First of all, I had this product before and it was in fairly good condition until roofers were reroofing and accidently broke it as it crashed to the ground. I ordered a new one and while the shipping date promised was later than expected, the product showed up on our door step far sooner than promised, which I liked very much. It is very easy to install as it was in the past. I did add a cap shingle under the mounting bracket and used lag bolts to fasten it to the peak of the roof at the point where I wanted it. I made sure the bolts and cap shingle were tar sealed to the roof. As before, I lubricated the shaft with 10/40. It is working perfectly and indicating the correct wind direction, in the slightest wind. One suggestion, I used a very good compass. Many people, including me, thought I originally knew exactly true North. I found with the compass no where near metal, that my house did not lie true North, South, East, West. It was off quite a bit. So now the tightened down N,S.E,W bracket is perfect.
