We needed interior lights to show off 2 stained-glass windows that are visible from the road at night. After trying 2 different unacceptable ones from local stores, we finally found these. One reason we like them is their narrow profile, which makes them virtually disappear when we view the windows from the inside.

BTW, these run on 12 volts A.C., so a separate transformer is required. Outdoor-lighting 12-volt transformers can generally be bought at local hardware stores, or from this company. Also, 12-volt bulbs in various wattages are available at stores. We used (2) 35-watt bulbs in ours.

I recently bought four of these lamps for a mobile art display. The main problem is that the flexible, metal neck on these is not strong enough to support its own weight, it just sags down. I definitely wouldn't be able to position the lights the way they are shown in the photo. Needless to say, I am very disappointed, my client was unhappy, and now I'm back searching for a new lamp. Waste of time and money.

I am using this for a library installation rather than individual pictures. the fixtures are a little small for this application, so i had to order one more than first expected. the shade/shield also appears bigger in the pictures than they are. they are very small, about 3" in diameter. what i like about the light is it's flexibility. it can be molded or twisted into any shape, and can be directed anywhere you want. i think these will work out for my bookcase to give it a unique and "funky" look. all in all, i would recommend this. for the overall price of the fixture, transformer, etc. it is a good value.
