Bought stainless steel specifically to use in a salt-air environment. Although basic light is stainless, the cage around the glass globe is not....and indeed rusts.

This is a high quality product. My house is on the west coast of Calif. and I choose this stainless steel to hold up against the harsh elements. The style gives a slight nod to the nautical without being over bearing. I wanted something a bit more contemporary, yet still complimentary to my cottage style house. Even after measuring out the dimensions, this is a larger fixture than I expected.(I ordered the smallest size). I will still use it but it's slightly over scale for my small house. The electrician was impressed with the workmanship and simplicity of installation. I ordered another one to hang over the barn-like garage and the smallest size available is a perfect choice for that.

This is a great looking fixture and would work perfectly indoors and out. The dimensions for the small fixture were not posted but they are 6W, 8H,& Projection 7.5. Both the small and larger are larger than expected and may not work for my space but they look great.

I'm using four of these outdoor sconces IN my design studio - they look really good. They have a great retro/industrial type of feel to them. I can't comment on their outdoor durability as a result, but their overall look is fantastic.
