This is a great looking stylish yet simple modern lamp with the added benefit that it is also green since it uses LED lights which use very little electricity and are not replaced. The lights last as long as the fixture. Assembly was the simplest I have ever experienced. Almost everything snapped into place with the exception of one screw that secured the pole to the base. My only complaint with the lamp is that the light is somewhat bluish like a florescent lamp.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a nice lamp. Well-made and cleanly stylish. It's very easy to assemble and has lots of intuitive adjustments to aim the light in the desired direction. I kind of wish there was a setting even dimmer than the first level, and for my taste a slightly "warmer" light color would be better, but nothing is perfect! I'm glad I bought this lamp.
